Robert Lobato was born and raised in Los Angeles California. He played the clarinet until the age of 12 and then pursued the drums. He played drums in the school marching band as well as city marching bands. Robert was very fortunate to study privately with many great teachers such as, Hank Bellson, David Garibaldi, Chuck Flores, Ralph Humphrey, Alex Acuna and Freddy Gruber.

Later in college Robert played in a semi-professional jazz band that traveled and performed extensively abroad. He has performed in such places as, the Disneyland Park and Hotels, Ocho Rios Jazz Festival Jamaica, The Playboy Mansion, New Orleans Jazz Festival and many other private and public performances throughout the United States.

Robert has over twenty years experience of teaching privately with as many as 72 students in a single week. In 1998 he launched a company called, Studio Drum Charts. These drum charts are sold in several music stores including, The Professional Drum Shop in Hollywood California. With plans to take Studio Drum Charts internationally, he as aligned himself with several publishers for licensing.
